OREANDA-NEWS. Today, a large governmental delegation headed by Dmitry Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Military-Industrial Commission under the Government of the Russian Federation, has arrived at KAMAZ.

The delegation included members of the Council of the Military-Industrial Commission under the Government of the Russian Federation for Equipping and Developing Armament Systems of Land Forces, Airborne Troops, the Russian Naval Infantry, Interior Troops of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and Rescue Military Units of Russia’s EMERCOM – more than 30 people in all, and also representatives of the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade, the RF Ministry of Defense, etc. Accompanied by Ravil Zaripov, Tatarstan’s Minister of Industry and Trade, and Vasil Shaykhraziev, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov also arrived at KAMAZ. The high guests were received by Sergey Kogogin, General Director of OJSC KAMAZ; Irek Gumerov, Director of Development; Danis Valeev, Chief Designer of the company; Dmitry Yakubovsky, General Director of CUMMINS KAMA JV, and other top managers of KAMAZ.

The delegation plans to visit KAMAZ’s engine plant and CUMMINS KAMA JV to see a Cummins cylinder block processing line.

Later, they will visit the company’s automobile plant to see the main assembly conveyor and a cab assembly line. The guests will see research and trial facilities at KAMAZ’s R&D Center and drive a “Typhoon” multipurpose armored vehicle. The company plans to conduct a press conference for correspondents. Then, Mr. Rogozin will meet the KAMAZ-master team: the racers will demonstrate their racing vehicles which brought them a triumphant victory at the Dakar’2013 Rally Raid. One of these trucks driven by Eduard Nikolaev, the winner of the race, will take Mr. Rogozin to another destination – a special production unit.

In the afternoon, a meeting of the Council of the Military-Industrial Commission under the RF Government will take place at the general directorate of OJSC KAMAZ. The participants will discuss problems and sum up the results of the visit to KAMAZ.
