OREANDA-NEWS. June 11, 2013. The Moldovan and the Romanian Chamber of Auditors signed an action plan, by which they engage to cooperate until 2014.

The head of the Moldovan Chamber of Auditors (CCRM), Serafim Urechean, said that the Moldovan public auditors would take over the experience of their Romanian colleagues as regards the verification of the way of assimilation of the EU allocated funds. „The leadership of the Chamber of Auditors will make efforts in order to prepare the institution to be ready to operate when Moldova integrates in the European Union,” Urechean said. He voiced hope that Moldova would integrate in the EU.

For his part, the chairman of the Romanian Chamber of Auditors, Nicolae Vacaroiu, said that he was willing to provide his support „in order to join us in the EU and to have access to European funds necessary for the economic re-launch”. Vacaroiu underlined that both institutions had important roles in making the use of public money as transparent as possible and said that the corruption level was high in both countries.

Nicolae Vacaroiu heads a delegation of the Romanian Chamber of Auditors, who is paying a four-day visit in Moldova and is going to meet a range of high-ranking Moldovan officials. The two chambers signed a cooperation agreement in 2006.
