OREANDA-NEWS. June 13, 2013. Tallinn University of Technology opened a mobile web environment today at 12:18 PM to make TUT information easily and comfortably accessible with smart devices (mobile phones and tablet computers).

The number of visits of TUT web page with mobile devices has more than doubled compared to the same time in last year, thus, the creation of the mobile environment was a logical step in the development of the web page.

TUT mobile environment enables all interest groups of the university starting with a student to supplementary student to comfortably browse the home page with different smart devices. For example, the future TUT student finds information on all studying facilities along with the description of all specialties when browsing the page in the smart device. Additionally, the new environment helps today’s students to find information in a faster and easier way, as they are using the smart devices especially frequently.

“Tallinn University of Technology as a university of technology has always paid attention to innovation and with the creation of an independent web environment, we can be considered a pioneer among the Estonian universities. Several top universities of technology in the world, including the California Institute of Technology, Stanford University, Berkeley University, as well as Aalto University in Finland have also created a mobile web environment. In the future, we want to provide the students and professors with an opportunity to also use study information system in the mobile web environment,” comments Ants Liivat, the Head of E-Channels of Tallinn University of Technology, more precisely.
