OREANDA-NEWS. June 14, 2013. According to Global Economic Prospects 2013, the WB forecasts the GDP growth by 4% in 2014 and by 5% in 2015 in Moldova. It is worth mentioning that the WB decreased the forecast from 3.1% to 3% in 2013.

The International Monetary Fund kept the forecast of GDP growth at the same level of 4%. While the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development decreased in by 0.5 p.p. from 3% to 2.5%. In 2012, GDP of Moldova decreased 0.8%.

The decrease of GDP was influenced by the decline of gross value added to agriculture because of summer drought. The agricultural sector is very important for Moldovan economy, because it takes a big share in forming the GDP.

The government of Moldova forecasted the growth of GDP by 4% in 2013, later on the Ministry of Economy decreased it from 4% to 3.5%.
