OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus’ government drew USD 1.285 billion in external credits in January-May 2013, with USD 650.7 million paid out in settlement for the government’s external debt, reads a report by the Finance Ministry of Belarus.

According to the Finance Ministry’s report, in January-May 2013 Belarus took out USD 880 million in the framework of the standby credit facility of the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund; USD 276.7 million under the Russian Government’s credit facility for the nuclear power plant project; USD 77.2 million under credit facilities of Chinese banks; USD 51.4 million under credit facilities provided by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

In January-May 2013 Belarus paid out USD 527.6 million in settlement for the IMF stand-by credit; USD 75 million in settlement for credits of the Russian government; USD 43 million in settlement for credits of Chinese banks; USD 5.1 million in settlement for the government’s other external liabilities.
