OREANDA-NEWS. August 09, 2013. The Head of the Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) for Control over Financial Markets Olga Sergeeva took part in China’s Forum on Competition Policy – “Transformation of Competition Policy” organized by the Government Antimonopoly Commission of the People’s Republic of China.

Participants – representatives of the antimonopoly authorities from different countries (including Kenya, Mongolia, Pakistan, India, and Korea) discussed the issues of antimonopoly enforcement in China in the past five years. They also exchanged opinions about the avenues for developing competition and the experience of BRICS countries in competition law, national competition enforcement and involvement in international cooperation.

Olga Sergeeva made a presentation “Competition Policy in the Russian Federation” where she outlined the main goals and scope of powers of FAS Russia and the fundamental changes in Russia’s competition law after 1991. She paid special attention to the novelties of the “third antimonopoly law” and the main areas of the present-day FAS work. In conclusion, Olga Sergeeva discussed medium- and long-term plans of FAS, approved, in particular, by the Government of the Russian Federation.
