OREANDA-NEWS. August 12, 2013. Vice Prime Minister Olexandr Vilkul has held workshop meeting at Integrated Iron and Steel Works “Zaporizhstal” on attracting investment into industrial construction. The meeting was held at the construction site of a line of muriatic etching. Thanks to the commissioning of the line emissions to the Dnipro River will be reduced by 83%.

Olexandr Vilkul has congratulated builders on their professional holiday on site of the construction.

He noted that the construction is an important part of economic development, as one job in this area provides 5 jobs in related industries.

"Investments in construction of industrial objects, thanks to which it becomes possible to reduce harmful emissions and increase energy efficiency of production, increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian producers and ensure the development of the construction industry in general", said Vice Prime Minister.

Construction of modern objects and use of energy-saving technologies allowed Zaporizhstal JSC, with the current growth of steel production by 1.3% to decrease compared to last year, gas consumption for industrial needs in two times up to 16 million cubic meters and reduce harmful emissions of the enterprise in an atmosphere by 10%.

For the first half of 2013 Integrated Iron and Steel Works “Zaporizhstal” by 6.4% reduced the energy intensity of the manufactured products. Thanks to this Zaporizhstal begins to give a losing heat energy generated at the enterprise, for the needs of the citizens since 1 June.

As a result, utility companies of Zaporizhya city will be able to at the end of 2013 to reduce the consumption of natural gas by 4 million cubic meters and will save half a million hryvnia.

"These funds will be used for the modernization of heating systems and boilers," Olexandr Vilkul said.

From 2013 to 2017, at Zaporizhstal JSC it is planed to build six projects aimed at modernization.
