OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2013.Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov had a telephone conversation with the Head of Government of the Russian Federation Dmytro Medvedev.

The Governments’ chiefs expressed their joint belief that there could not be any trade wars between Ukraine and Russia.

The parties tackled present state of trade and economic relations between the states and also problems that occurred recently in customs clearance of certain kinds of cargoes exported from Ukraine to the Russian Federation.

The Premier of Ukraine stressed with satisfaction that activity of commissioned panels of the parties, which was carried out intensively during the weekend, had led to significant progress in this area.

The parties are convinced the issues will be settled operatively in the interests of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The heads of Governments emphasized the speculations that problems were joined with integration processes of the two states appeared groundless.

Mykola Azarov and Dmytro Medvedev agreed on Monday chiefs of customs services of Ukraine and the Russian Federation would meet and be working in a calm mode until an issue of returning customs procedures to an optimal mode was settled.

The heads of Governments stressed that an aim was returning positive dymanics of bipartite trade turnover, which had slowed down to a certain extent recently.

Moreover, the sides stressed that the priority of cooperation had to be implementation of the program of investment cooperation, in the first place, in high-tech industries.
