OREANDA-NEWS. August 22, 2013. The Government of the Moscow Region and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) signed an Agreement on Cooperation.

On behalf of the Government of the Moscow Region the Agreement was signed by the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov; on behalf of FAS – the Head of FAS Igor Artemiev.

The Agreement is aimed at establishing cooperation between the antimonopoly body and the Government of the Moscow Region to implement the Actions Plan (“Road Map”) on “Developing Competition and Improving the Antimonopoly Policy”, advancing competition in the Moscow region, and complying with the antimonopoly aw, the law on advertising and the law on procurement of foods, works and services for state and municipal needs.

“The objective of the Agreement is to combine our efforts and increase efficiency of our activities in the interest of the population of the Moscow region. Only together the federal and regional authorities can achieve high results in developing competition”, stated Igor Artemiev.

“For the Moscow region is it very important because today the Antimonopoly Service is responsible for control over executing municipal public contracts and observing competitive conditions”, said Andrey Vorobyov. “It is necessary to make tenders and other similar events maximum efficient, and ensure that all required conditions are met when considering a contract”.

Andrey Vorobyov emphasized that partnership relations between the Government of the Moscow Region and the Federal Antimonopoly Service would enable to more actively implement the programmes for constructing social facilities: schools, pre-school care centres and health centres.
