OREANDA-NEWS. Lemtrans, Ukraine's largest transport and forwarding company, has established Lemtrans Transit to forward freight in transit.

Registered on 22 August 2013, Lemtrans Transit will offer freight transport, forwarding, customs, consultancy and other services.

Lemtrans CEO Vladimir Mezentsev says the business is not new for the company as it has already forwarded the freight in transit in Ukraine. The launch of the standalone subsidiary will improve the quality of transit service and help the company to capitalise effectively this line of business.

“We believe that transit is a promising area and plan to develop it extensively and cement our position in the market,” stated Vladimir Mezentsev.

Lemtrans is Ukraine's biggest private freight forwarding company that offers the full gamut of rail freight transport services. The areas of main focus include freight forwarding services in inland and outland transportation market and rolling stock repair services.

Today Lemtrans operates more than 13,500 vehicles. In 2012, the company transported more than

51 million tonnes of freight.
