OREANDA-NEWS. In Vladivostok, a meeting of representatives of the airline Vladivostok Air and Sakhalin Airlines was held, where issues of integration and the prospects for an integrated Far Eastern air carrier were discussed.

It was noted at the meeting that the new integrated airline will operate modern aircraft. A broad affiliated network is being created in the region. Airport Knevichi will continue to be the base for operating the family of medium-haul Airbus A319/320/321 aircraft. The total number of medium-range aircraft by 2017 will increase to 17, and the total number of aircraft will reach 40. In the nearest future, operation of the new 19-seat aircraft is expected to commence in regional service on the basis of the Pacific Maritime branch.

One of the key factors in the successful development of the new airline is to retain and engage qualified personnel. To prevent social tension in the workplace, training and refresher training of employees will be arranged.

It was also emphasized during the meeting that the preservation of jobs for the current employees of Vladivostok Air is the main priority. Additionally, interests of employees will be protected by way of creation of a personnel reserve for their further refresher training. Material compensation shall be reserved for that talent pool at the rate of average wage for 6 months.
