OREANDA-NEWS. August 29, 2013. VTB Bank has become the general sponsor of the MAKS air show (the International Aviation and Space Salon) this year, which takes place from 27 August -1 September in Zhukovsky outside Moscow.

The bank’s active involvement in the event stems from VTB’s dedication to the development of the national aerospace industry and defence enterprises.

Over 800 Russian and foreign companies, government officials and experts will participate in the international air show.

VTB Bank works with virtually all the major Russian holding companies that manufacture aircraft, including United Aircraft Corporation, Sukhoi, United Engine Corporation, and Russian Helicopters.

VTB’s loans to aircraft manufacturers exceed RUB 120 billion. The financing is provided for current operations, work under government and export contracts, upgrading facilities and retooling, and developing innovative products.

VTB Bank also cooperates with aerospace companies, including Information Satellite Systems - Reshetnev Company, Progress State Research and Production Space Centre (also known as TsSKB-Progress), Centre for the Operation of Ground-Based Space Infrastructure, Krasnoyarsk Engineering Plant, Berg Central Radio Engineering Research Institute, Space Monitoring Systems, Information & Control and Electromechanical Complexes (VNIIEM Corporation), Lavochkin Science & Production Association, Russian Space Systems, and Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center.
