OREANDA-NEWS. Duke Energy customers in qualified service areas can now shop for energy-efficient light bulbs online at the new “Duke Energy Savings Store.”

Available at www.duke-energy.com/savingsstore, the store offers ENERGY STAR®-qualified compact fluorescent light (CFL) and light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs that cost up to 92 percent less than the everyday retail price.

The Duke Energy Savings Store features residential light bulb types and sizes for indoor and outdoor use. Customers can choose from a wide variety of EnergyStar™ CFL and LED bulbs including single-wattage, three-way, dimmable, flood, candle-shape and more.

The store also provides simple online tools to help customers select bulbs and estimate home energy savings.

“Duke Energy is pleased to introduce another service that helps customers save energy and money,” said Gayle Lanier, Duke Energy senior vice president and chief customer officer. “Encouraging customers to pursue energy-efficient habits today, helps the greater community meet the energy demands of tomorrow.”

The online savings store builds upon the success of Duke Energy’s free CFL offers.

Since 2010, Duke Energy has distributed nearly 37 million CFL bulbs throughout its service areas. This is enough energy savings to power more than 97,000 residential homes and offset the carbon emissions of 205,000 passenger cars.
