OREANDA-NEWS. SK Korocha, ABH “Miratorg Processing Plant informs that in 2014 it is planning to process 3 million pigs, increasing the production volumes three times since the factory launch autumn 2008.

Within the framework of vertically-integrated model “from the field to the shop counter” the Holding implements long-term strategy to increase production of domestic high-quality meat, by widening product range and developing distribution channels including its own supermarkets network.

SK Korocha is the largest high-tech pig slaughtering and processing plant in Russia with unprecedented level of robotic automation providing processing depth equal to the best European standards.

For five years the factory has produced more than 785 thousand tons of products - high quality meat semi-finished products, steadily increasing the percent of products produced with high added value and catered to final consumers. The wide range of chilled joints in industrial packages amounts to 32 % of the total production volume. The share of the products in Consumer packages, aimed for retail market will exceed 25% of total production by the end of 2014 or 72 thousand tons per year when Case Ready complex reaches the full capacity.

The factory also produces items for the petfood industries: products obtained during blood processing, natural casings, rendered edible fat and frozen products for industrial processing. In 2013 the factory doubled product export into South-East Asia.

“SK Korocha is a pioneer in Russian meat industry not only in terms of technologies applied in production, which even today 5 years after the launch beats the market. The factory has reached target capacity of 3 million pigs per year, from now on our strategy will be focused on increasing efficiency, reducing expenses, and therefore products cost. Only consistent development can guarantee the leadership: we have increased the speed of the slaughter line by 25% up to 520 pigs per hour and the capacity of the half-carcasses chilling chambers by 80%. Next year we are planning to increase the deboning area capacity by 70%” - Korocha's CEO Anatoly Oleynik said.?
