OREANDA-NEWS.   Integrated Iron and Steel Works “Zaporizhstal” as a part of technological strategy of Metinvest, which is headed for modernization of the Group enterprises, realizes major reconstruction of the Blast Furnace No.4 (BF-4). The re-construction project provides new aspiration systems for casting yard and stock house, replacement of using natural gas for pulverized fuel. The investments are about 600 mln. grn.

Reconstruction of the Blast Furnace No.4 — is a part of the enterprise modernization plan, which foresee not only renewal of production assets, but also reduction of ecological impact for environment. Since August 2012 for modernization and reconstruction of plant’s production was invested about 550 mln. grn. (Start up of the new sinter machine No.1 with high efficiency gas purification, starting the construction of new pickling line in cold rolling plant).

As a result of BF-4 reconstruction the productivity of the furnace will increase to 1112 thousand tons per year (from 1052 thousand tones). The project provides the construction of casting yard aspiration installations and stock house of the furnace for dust and gases removal, which appear as a result of hot metal tapping and transportation. The installation includes chute cover and local withdrawal of dust and gas mixture with purifying in hose filter, which provides purification rate according European standards.
