OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2013. ArcelorMittal has won an award in the internal assurance category from Crowe Horwath Global Risk Consulting (Crowe Horwath GRC) and the IFACI during the third “Trophees de la Maitrise des Risques” (risk management trophies) awards.

Around 250 professionals attended the event, held in Paris. Francis Lefevre, head of internal assurance, and Andreas Trogsch, general manager internal assurance, received the award on behalf of ArcelorMittal.

“I would like to congratulate all the nominees and winners of the competition, but most of all, on behalf of ArcelorMittal’s Group Management Board, I would like to congratulate Francis and his team for this impressive achievement,” said Sudhir Maheshwari, ArcelorMittal Group Management Board member responsible for corporate finance; M&A; risk management; India and China activities.

Francis Lefevre, commented: “Being recognised by Crowe Horwath GRC and IFACI further confirms our belief in the internal assurance practices we have been promoting and using across the group. I am honoured to be part of such a results-driven function, and would like to extend my congratulations to the entire internal assurance team at ArcelorMittal. This is really a team accomplishment.”

The awards are presented in five categories, including ‘best internal control process’, ‘best risk management’, and ‘contribution to the profession of internal assurance’. The runners up in the internal assurance category were CFAO and Dassault Systemes.

“The Trophees de la Maitrise des Risques aim to collect, analyse and recognise best practices observed in the areas of internal assurance, internal control and risk management”, explained Jonathan Burnet, chairman and CEO of Crowe Horwath Global Risk Consulting and Farid Aractingi, president of the IFACI.
