OREANDA-NEWS. Qantas today announced it will provide special relief airfares on its regional network for customers impacted by Brindabella Airlines suspending its operations.

Qantas Group Chief Executive Officer Alan Joyce said Qantas is looking at a range of options to help impacted Brindabella customers.

“It's unfortunate that Brindabella has suspended its operations, however as the national carrier we stand ready to assist the community,” Mr Joyce said.

“We are looking at a range of options to help the impacted communities in addition to special fares, including putting on relief flights outside our network on routes serviced by Brindabella.

“Access to air transport is extremely important to regional towns, especially for medical and business purposes,” added Mr Joyce.

Customers who currently hold a valid ticket with Brindabella Airlines will be eligible for discounted relief airfares on a range of selected regional Qantas routes.

Impacted customers can book their relief flights via the Qantas Contact Centres on 13 13 13.

Background:

Brindabella customers in Mudgee and Cobar who currently hold a valid Brindabella ticket will be eligible to receive discounted relief fares from the closest QantasLink port, Dubbo.

Brindabella customers in Narrabri and Moree who currently hold a valid Brindabella ticket will be eligible to receive discounted relief fares from the closest QantasLink port, Armidale and/or Tamworth.

Brindabella customers in Brisbane and Tamworth who currently hold a valid Brindabella ticket will be eligible to receive discounted relief fares via Sydney.
