OREANDA-NEWS. December 18, 2013. The Association of European Business (AEB) published the Code of Conduct of car manufacturers and distributors on the markets of sales of new cars and spare parts to them. The Code was officially presented on 6th December 2013 at a press –conference of the Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, Igor Artemiev, and AEB on developing of self-regulation of the car market.

The Code of Conduct of car manufacturers and distributors was devised by AEB together with FAS. It determines the main principles of cooperation between market participants. The basic objective is to form transparent, non-discriminatory rules. AEB members that joined the Code undertake obligations to observe the Code principles.

“The Code of Conduct of car manufacturers formalizes the main principles of implementing bona fide and pro-competitive strategies on the market. Undoubtedly, it is the first step to system-wide changes, and to make such changes possible it is necessary to enforce its provisions. To this purpose the antimonopoly body will monitor enforcement the Code and if necessary make corrections”, pointed out the Head of FAS Department for Control over Industry and Defence Complex, Maxim Ovchinnikov.
