OREANDA-NEWS. Once again, Grupa LOTOS has been included in the RESPECT Index of the most socially responsible WSE-listed companies.

Having once more satisfied the exacting requirements and criteria of the RESPECT project, LOTOS is again among the select group of 23 names listed in the new index portfolio. It is already the seventh edition of the index, in which LOTOS has been present since the beginning.

"Transparency and openness of the information policy are the cornerstones of our CSR strategy, as they foster our credibility with stakeholders and facilitate the policy's broad-based evaluation. This is one of the core values of our Company," noted Jowita Twardowska, Communication & CSR Director. "The fact that Grupa LOTOS is once again included in the RESPECT Index confirms that the market and our stakeholders continue to trust us."

This year, Deloitte applied new criteria to select the leaders of responsible business in Poland. The most important changes related to questions included in the survey, which had been divided into three groups, each representing a different set of factors related to Environmental, Social and Governance issues. Furthermore, the index requirements were changed to account for specific characteristics of the various industries, and it was decided that the assessment of companies' maturity in terms of environmental, social and governance matters would be undertaken on a yearly basis.

"Grupa LOTOS' continued presence in the index of socially responsible companies proves that our best practices in the ESG area are appreciated. One of the key factors taken into account by investors with respect to listed companies is the transparency of their relations with stakeholders, which can only be achieved by employing the highest corporate governance standards," emphasized Pawel Bujnowski, Head of the Investor Relations Office at Grupa LOTOS, who collected the certificate at the WSE gala.

RESPECT Index is the first index of socially responsible companies in Central and Eastern Europe. It was launched by the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2009, when the list of companies included in the new index was published for the first time. The indices of socially responsible companies gather the elite names that excel at acting according to the best management standards in corporate and information governance, as well as investor relations, and pay particular attention to their ESG performance.
