OREANDA-NEWS. In the interests of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia Armada OAO (MICEX-RTS: ARMD) will upgrade the Federal Information System of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia (FIS GIBDD-M).

There are more than 42 million vehicles in Russia, a big number of citizens (43%) have a driver's license. All information on registered vehicles, issued driver's licenses, administrative violations is kept and processed in several loosely-coupled information systems of the State Automobile Inspectorate of regional and federal levels, which results in faults and delays in the operation of subdivisions of the State Road Safety Inspectorate.

In order to improve the quality of work of the State Automobile Inspectorate and to solve the issues related to provision of public services to citizens, Armada will create a unified centralized system of the State Automobile Inspectorate - FIS GIBDD-M. This system will allow to automate the activities of registration and examination subdivisions of the State Automobile Inspectorate, as well as the records management procedures related to administrative violations of road users.

Data exchange between the subdivisions of the State Automobile Inspectorate on a real time basis will be possible after implementation of the new system. The information on vehicle registration, deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle and other events will become instantly available in any subdivision. The time for receipt by citizens of the information about fines for administrative violations and recording of the information on payment thereof will be reduced.

"The transition to processing of information on a real time basis and automated interagency cooperation will allow achieving a new level of quality of services provision for citizens," said Roman Kruglyakov, the General Director of Armada OAO.
