OREANDA-NEWS. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company provided insurance for the Russian Olympic Team participates in the 22nd Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi. The contract is concluded between Ingosstrakh-Life Insurance Company and the All-Russian Union of Public Associations Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).

Insurance coverage is provided for 566 persons for the period from 01.02.2014 to 28.02.2014. The insured amount is the equivalent of 100,000 euros per insured person. Insurance coverage is effective for 24 hours a day.

The 22nd Olympic Winter Games will take place from 7th to 23rd of February in Sochi, and Russian national team is represented by 225 athletes, which is a record number. They come from 31 region of the country, the regions represented by the largest number of Olympic athletes being Moscow, Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Chelyabinsk Region, Krasnodar and Krasnoyarsk Territories.

The average age of the Russian Olympic team is 22.4 years, which is 4 years younger than at the 21st Olympic Winter Games in 2010 in Vancouver. The youngest athlete in the team is the fifteen-year old figure skater Yulia Lipnitskaya, and the most mature is luger Albert Demchenko.

The team consists of 47 Honored Masters of Sports, 99 International Masters of Sport, 63 Masters of Sport, 15 Candidates for Master of Sports, including three champions of the 21st Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 and 8 reigning world champions in the Olympic disciplines.

Compared with the Games in Vancouver, our team is 63% renewed. 83 of the 225 athletes who will compete for medals in Sochi participated in the previous Olympic Winter Games. The nordic combined and cross-country skiing teams have changed the most (75% new members), while the women's hockey team is the most stable of all (43% new members).
