OREANDA-NEWS. EUROCEMENT group, the largest building materials production group in Russia and the CIS states, has become a proud recipient of the “Building Industry Professional 2013” award based on the rating of the StroyEkspertiza journal (Kazan) in the nomination of “International Industrial Building Materials Production Group”. Artur Chebotarev, General Director of Ulyanovskcement, part of EUROCEMENT group, received a diploma and a prize trophy personally from Vladimir Kudryashev, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing, and Chief Architect of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Nominees are selected based on their significant investment in the development of the construction industry, their innovative company approach, and their company's particular achievements, professionalism, and high quality of offered services and materials.

The aggregate production of the group's 16 factories in Russia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan in 2013 consisted of more than 24.5 million tons of cement. At the same time, the growth of cement shipping to customers came to 5% on average and exceeded the indicator of 2012 by 1 million tons.

The group's production capacity allows for 100 million m2 of accommodation to be erected, providing apartments to more than 3 million families, or for 20,000 km of roads to be laid, or for 67 million m2 of industrial infrastructure to be built per year. The consumers of the group's produce add up to 300 million people.

“Today, EUROCEMENT group has the capacity to provide high quality cement for global projects of any complexity and scale. Approximately 80% of all airport air strips laid in Russia over the last few years have been reconstructed and built on our cement - the airports of Pulkovo, Vnukovo, Kazan, Lipetsk, etc. Many of the country's huge atomic energy facilities have been built on the group's cement: the Tatar, Bashkir, Kola, Novovoronezh, Kursk, Kalininsk, and Smolensk nuclear power plants, among other facilities. Our produce is used in residential construction on all levels of complexity: from low-rise to high-rise, from typical projects to elite residencies”, remarks the president of EUROCEMENT group Mikhail Skorokhod.

It's worth noting that in 2013, the group became the largest supplier on the market of the Republic of Tatarstan. Building materials produced by Ulyanovskcement were used in 2013 in the construction of such major projects as the XXVII Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan, among others. The main volume of cement deliveries was put toward the reconstruction of the Kazan International Airport airstrip, the construction of the M-7 federal highway, where large works are underway to reconstruct the roadbed, the erection of the Kazan Arena football stadium to seat 45 thousand in the capital of Tatarstan, the construction of a Rowing Center, the construction of Olympic village buildings, and many other structures.
