OREANDA-NEWS. April 04, 2014. The existing project portfolio of EIB in Ukraine has been reviewed in the Office of the Delegation of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Ukraine. During the meeting it was analyzed the results of joint work in 2013 and discussed priorities for cooperation with the Bank for 2014 and the medium term.

"This is our third review of the portfolio, and I'm glad that we have the opportunity to discuss our agreements reached during the meeting of March 5, 2013 and discuss plans for the future," Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Anatoliy Maksyuta said.

He thanked for the fruitful and constructive dialogue that exists between the Ministry responsible executors and the Bank. It allows achieving significant progress in cooperation.

In past 5 years the EIB portfolio of projects in Ukraine extended in four times. This applies such areas as energy, transport and municipal infrastructure. Currently, there are 9 investment projects under implementation and preparation and 7 projects in the private sector.

"The European Union declared intention to provide financial support to Ukraine in the amount of 11 billion euros over the next few years, of which 3 billion EIB can provide," Anatoliy Maksyuta said.

They also spoke that financial agreements will be signed on the completion of construction of the Beskid tunnel, subway in Kharkiv and modernization of Kharkiv municipal infrastructure and the financing agreement on the project of building the subway in Dnipropetrovsk will entry into force in 2014.

"This will increase the portfolio of the Bank in the public sector of Ukraine by the end of 2014 to 2 billion euros," Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine said.
