OREANDA-NEWS. Lemtrans has bought 500 new open cars since the beginning of 2014.

Every year the company buys new wagons under its modernisation programme. Over 2010-2013 Lemtrans purchased around 3,900 new open railway cars with plans to buy also 2,500 by the end of 2014 under its investment programme.

Lemtrans CEO Vladimir Mezetsev said:

“Our car fleet was worn out several years ago that resulted in high costs of repairs and maintenance as well as additional issues in cooperation with consignors. Today wagons under 5 years old make about 32% of the fleet and we plan to boost the number very soon.”

Lemtrans is Ukraine's biggest private freight forwarding company that offers the full gamut of rail freight transport services. The areas of main focus include freight forwarding services in inland and outland transportation market and rolling stock repairs.

Today Lemtrans operates more than 16,000 vehicles. In 2013, the volume of transported freight exceeded 48.5m tonnes.
