OREANDA-NEWS. Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe* for the first time evertook part in the airshow held in Budapest on May 1 2014. The Budapest airshow, a tradition cherished by habitants and guests of the Pearl of the Danube, was originally held on Saint Stephen’s Day and was meanwhile moved to the 1st of May.

This year Wizz Air has debuted in the event, as well as it was the first time ever an Airbus was involved in Budapest’s airshow. Wizz Air’s Captain David Morgan and Captain Andras Arday performed two flights above the Danube with one of the airline’s brand new sharklet equipped A320 aircraft. The first low flight was performed at the speed of 140 knots and an altitude of 500 feet above the sea level. After a beautiful 45 degrees turn next to the Margaret Island the aircraft performed a full speed flight with retracted gear at 240 knots.
