OREANDA-NEWS. With the inclusion of the current operating data for the power plants in the Netherlands and Belgium on the transparency platform www.eex-transparency.com <http://www.eex-transparency.com> of the European Electricity Exchange (EEX), RWE is making a further significant contribution to achieving a wider market overview. This means that alongside the German power plants, the company's plants in these two countries that have a generating capacity of over 10 megawatts - altogether some 6,000MW - are now also immediately visible at the EEX (you will find a detailed list of power plants at the end of this press release).

When the transparency website www.rwetransparent.com <http://www.rwetransparent.com> underwent updating in April, RWE had already optimised the overview of its own electricity generating capacity in Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain. All information relating to RWE power plants is - wherever possible - displayed per power plant unit and in real time on the transparency website. Furthermore, the website can now also be quickly and easily accessed using a tablet PC or smartphone. This free online service receives over 30,000 visits each month.

Already in 2007, RWE AG had commenced under its own initiative with the provision of comprehensive electricity generation data from the company's fleet of power plants, as part of its “transparency drive”. The service has been continuously expanded since then, among others in 2011 when it was adapted to meet the transparency requirements of the European Union in line with the Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency, or REMIT for short. REMIT obligates all power plant operators that participate in the electricity market to provide the general public with detailed, up-to-date information on the status of electricity generation or problems at power plants that lead to reduced capacities or plant outages.
