OREANDA-NEWS. On October 3, 2014 in Petrozavodsk several dozen trees will be planted as part of the Living Energy Campaign.

Power engineers of JSC TGC-1 together with volunteers and activists of the Karelian volunteering center will hold a master class for the city residents: everyone will be able to plant 6 types of trees on the Antikainen and the Gorkogo Streets under the guidance of landscape designer and author of the project Elena Chekmasova.

"We will plant a few trees in the memory of those power engineers, who are no longer with us," says the Director of the Petrozavodskaya CHPP of JSC TGC-1 Alexander Vdovichenko. "One tree in Petrozavodsk will be named after Anatoliy Alexandrovich Dergounov, Head of the Karelian energy industry, who created almost the whole modern power system of the region. Even during his life, he became a symbol of the era, whose friends and colleagues called him "the collector of the Karelian energy"! Trees will also be named after Vladislav Kapitonovich Gellis, who for over 30 years supervised the most powerful Karelian HPPs Cascade - the Kem HPPs Cascade of JSC TGC-1, and Alexander Nikolayevich Postnov, the veteran of the Karelian energy industry, working for the Vyg HPPs Cascade. They have devoted their lives to serving one of the most interesting and challenging sectors."

On this day the members of the Karelian Varlamovskoe movement; the environmental movement Green Wave; the Karelian regional public organization of parents of disabled children with ICP Let's help our children; public organization People of Besieged Leningrad of Petrozavodsk; Karelian regional public organization for homeless animals Chance and many others will be able to plant their trees.

"We will plant a lot of beautiful rare trees, the children will be able to win some nice souvenirs in the eco-quiz. All the campaign guests will enjoy planting and will get heaps of positive energy," says the main volunteer of Karelia Daria Makovetskaya, inviting to the event. "Along with us the City Youth Center is working on the good cause, and Artem Haka, one of the hosts, will be responsible for an excellent mood of the guests. We are expecting all the volunteers at 12.30 at the Ecocenter - there we will take the inventory and go to the site, the city residents are expected at 14.00 at the intersection of the Antikainena St., 10 and the Gorkogo St., 7”.

Next week the planting of trees on the embankment of the Lake Onega on the Power Engineers' Alley will be held.
