OREANDA-NEWS. Chusovoy Metallurgical Works (CMW Open Joint Stock Company, based in the Perm Krai, part of United Metallurgical Company, OMK CJSC, Moscow) has commissioned a new equipment set for shot blasting springs sheets under tension. It will upgrade the quality and prolong the life cycle for automobile springs produced by CMW. This is the first time this technology is being used at the factory.

The equipment set consists of a shot blaster, a transport system, and aspiration and loading systems made by leading European machine-building companies. The equipment makes it possible to process spring sheets (the steel strips used to make automobile springs) under special conditions by preserving the residual steel compression tension.

"CWM has made a due upgrade of its equipment and technologies for automobile springs production. This enables the Chusovoy springs to fully meet the highest requirements from both Russian and foreign car manufacturers and allows us to expand to new segments of the automobile springs market," said Sergey Filipiev, CMW's Managing Director.
