OREANDA-NEWS. Evgeny Maslov has been confirmed as Managing Director of Ural Steel by decision of the Board of Directors of Management Company Metalloinvest. He previously combined the roles of Managing Director and Chief Engineer. Mr. Maslov has also been elected to Metalloinvest's Management Board by the Board of Directors. Dmitry Burtsev has been appointed as the plant's Chief Engineer.

Ivan Streshinsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Management Company Metalloinvest, commented: "The Board of Directors is pleased with the results of the restructuring that has taken place at Ural Steel, which has allowed the plant to enter into profit for the first time in a number of years. The next challenge for Ural Steel is to increase the plant's efficiency.

Dmitry Burtsev's extensive experience, professional competencies and knowledge of the plant, as well as the support of a strong team, will enable him to achieve operational targets."

His substantial experience in steel production and management and his thorough knowledge of the plant's technological processes will allow him to perform his duties. Evgeny Maslov was born in 1961. After serving in the Soviet Army, he joined the Cherepovets Steel Mill in 1983 (renamed OJSC Severstal in 1993). He worked his way up from Furnace Assistant to Head of the Furnace Division at the electric arc furnace workshop. Continuing in metals production, in 2002, he graduated from Cherepovets State University with a degree in Ferrous Metals Metallurgy.

From 2007, he worked at Ural Steel in the role of Deputy Chief Engineer for Coke Oven and Blast Furnace Production. In 2010, he became Head of Steelmaking at the main blast furnace plant. From 2012, he occupied the role of the plant's Chief Engineer. Since April 2014, he has been Managing Director of Ural Steel, which he has combined with the responsibilities of Chief Engineer.

Ural Steel awarded Evgeny Maslov a certificate in recognition of his professionalism, responsible approach to his duties and substantial contribution to the implementation of strategically-important projects. In addition, in 2013, he was awarded the Order of Merit by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

Dmitry Burtsev was born in 1966. After graduating from the Siberian Metallurgical Institute in 1988 with a degree in Metal Pressure Treatment, Mr. Burtsev worked as the Nail Production Site Supervisor at the West Siberian Metallurgical Plant. In 1990, he joined Ural Steel. Mr. Burtsev worked his way up from Head of the 2800 Rolling Mill #1 to Chief Engineer. In 2008, he was awarded with an LLC Management Company Metalloinvest Order of Merit and Badge of Honour. From 2009 to 2014, Mr. Burtsev held managerial positions at various companies (OJSC Orsk Steelworks Plant, OJSC Azovsteel and Mariupol Metallurgical Plant, LLC Raznoimpert Holding in Moscow, and at Ukraine's Ferronickel Plant). In July 2014, he was put forward for the position of Deputy Chief Engineer of Ural Steel.
