OREANDA-NEWS. During the ten months of 2014, the passenger traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport amounted to 25.98 million persons which is 7.9% more yoy. Only in October, Moscow Domodedovo Airport rendered services to 2.71 million passengers, which is 5.4% more yoy. The number of flights increased by 3.6% yoy to make 23,522 take-offs and landings. In total, during the period from January from October of 2014, 236,374 flights were operated, which is 6.5% more yoy.

The trend of increase in domestic passenger traffic persists. So, the number of passengers traveling around the country for the period from January to October 2014 increased by 21.9% yoy. The largest increase was registered in the following destinations: Simferopol, Sochi, Omsk, Kaliningrad, Mineralnye Vody. The passenger traffic here amounted to 2.53 million people, which is 2.5 times more yoy.

It should be noted that the growth of the number of flights to Simferopol became one of the reasons why the positive dynamics in the passenger traffic shifted towards domestic airlines. In addition, the frequency of flights from the capital of Russia to the Ukrainian regions, which belong to the international segment now, decreased.

In total, from January through October 2014, Moscow Domodedovo Airport served about 15.7 million international travelers. The highest growth in passenger traffic was registered in the following destinations: Hurghada, Sharm el Sheikh, Chisinau, Larnaca, Verona. In January-October 2014, 2.48 people were transported on these routes, which is 73.1% more than last year.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport cargo traffic in the January-October of 2014 amounted to 153 thousand tons.
