Dow restarts Freeport unit No. 8

OREANDA-NEWS.  Dow began restarting its Freeport, Texas light hydrocarbons unit No. 8 today following planned maintenance, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Startup operations, which are expected to continue through 26 February, will result in emissions of ethylene and propylene, among other materials.

The Freeport plant, which can produce up to 3.3bn lb/yr of ethylene, is also clearing a pipeline for inspection work that will last through 15 March, according to another filing.
