OREANDA-NEWS. Following their registration on the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council) Navigator platform, BASF's MasterTop products have now been granted the DGNB Navigator Label. This label allows the manufacturer to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and gives customers the necessary guidance and transparency when selecting products. Only products that offer, for example, a product specific environmental product declaration are granted the label.

Prof. Alexander Rudolphi, President of DGNB, awarded the label on the occasion of BAU 2015 in Munich to BASF?s representative Uwe Kundel, Sales Director Performance Flooring in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. "We are very proud to be the first manufacturer of seamless polyurethane and epoxy floor systems awarded the DGNB Navigator Label. This reflects our continuous approach to develop environmental friendly floor products supporting our customers in sustainable construction and giving them transparency and information about that topic", says Uwe Kundel.

The desire for a healthy and safe environment has been increasing for years. Therefore sustainable construction is getting more and more important.

Associated with this, DGNB not only delivers certifications for buildings but also created the DGNB Navigator - a database providing all relevant information about building products in terms of sustainability ( www.dgnb-navigator.de). In addition the new DGNB Navigator Label gives customers guidance and transparency. MasterTop floor products are from now on available in this database with all the required data and documents, such as Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) or Declaration of Performance (DoP).

The non-solvented, seamless MasterTop floors contribute to sustainable development as their high durability and low maintenance expenses result in a positive eco-balance over their entire life cycle. Furthermore they have been tested according to the stringent AgBB (Committee for the Health Assessment of Construction Products) regulations and comply with low-emission standards such as the Nordic Eco Label and the French VOC regulations. Consequently MasterTop floors foster a healthy indoor air quality, thus they are very well suited for applications in schools, kindergartens, offices, hospitals, shops and hotel rooms.
