OREANDA-NEWS. For the third time running, Cargolux Airlines International S.A. was honored with STAT Trade Times’ International All-Cargo Carrier of the Year in Africa award at the Air Cargo Africa 2015 conference in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The award was accepted by Isidro Lopes, Cargolux Manager Sales & Space Coordination Africa, at STAT Times’ Gala Award Night on 26 February at the Barnyard Theatre, Rivonia. The Award function is organized in connection with the biennial Air Cargo Africa 2015 event, organized for the third time. It enables major industry players to present their services, to discuss opportunities and to forge new partnerships.

‘We are proud to be honored for the recognition that our service and customer care in Africa receives’, Mr. Lopes stated during the ceremony. ‘Africa represents an important market segment for Cargolux and our services here support the trade lanes to Europe, The United States and Asia as well as the Cargolux business worldwide. Our thanks also go to STAT Trade Times for making this event happen, a very good event well organized.’

Cargolux operates an extensive network from Africa and also offers direct air cargo services between Houston, New York, Accra and Lagos. The carrier is a proven expert in a range of diverse shipments, from perishables, fruit and flowers to heavy machinery for the oil and gas industry on the continent. It was also the first airline to introduce the new Boeing 747-8F on African air freight services, where Cargolux’s customers benefit from the improved performance and economies of the advanced freighter.
