OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding implements into production the plant for application of bioactive coatings onto endoprostheses.

The equipment for application of nanostructural porous bioactive coating onto endoprostheses has been developed by employees of S. A. Zverev Krasnogorsk Plant PJSC, a Shvabe Holding's enterprise, - jointly with FGAOU VPO Belgorod State National Research University.

"The use of alloys with nanostructural porous bioactive coatings allows to essentially enhance the physical and mechanical characteristics of the endoprosthesis. The material does not react, is not toxic and does not provoke rejection. A new bony tissue is generated in the area of contact with the implant", explained Nickolai Rakovich, Shvabe JSC's deputy general director for R&D and innovative development.

The unique technology for application of nanostructural porous bioactive coating onto an endoprosthesis has been developed by Shvabe jointly with FGAOU VPO Belgorod State National Research University within the framework of the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No.218 "On measures of state support of development of the cooperation of Russian educational organisations of higher education, state scientific institutions and organizations implementing integrated projects for creation of the high technology production".

It is planned to launch the new endoprosthesis with nanostructural porous bioactive coating into serial production at the end of 2015.
