OREANDA-NEWS. Sales of passenger cars in Europe in July grew by 9.1% to 1 million 180 thousand 178 vehicles. According to research company JATO Dynamics, a positive result was recorded in the most EU countries, including all major car markets in Europe - from 2.3% in France to 23.7% in Spain. For the first seven months of 2015 car sales in Europe were 8 595 528 units – it is more by 8.6% than a year before.

As noted in the review of the European car market in July, the largest number among automakers of vehicles was sold by Volkswagen in the European Union - 152,160 vehicles (+ 7.7%). Ford came back in the second place with 84,450 sold vehicles (+ 7%). The third place is occupied by Opel / Vauxhall, it has sold 74,736 cars – it is more by 3.4% than a year before. The two French brands - Renault (70 831 units + 4.9%) and Peugeot (70,233 units, + 10.6%) are closing the "top five" leaders.
