OREANDA-NEWS. September 30, 2015. Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designations remain a fairly frequent activity within U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  In early September 2015, Yemen was designated for 18 months of TPS due to the ongoing armed conflict within the country.  The TPS designation for Yemen is effective September 3, 2015 through March 3, 2017 with the 180-day TPS registration period running through March 1, 2016.

In other I-9 news, USCIS continues to enhance the myE-Verify program which provides U.S. workers and jobseekers a free and secure ability to Self-Lock their E-Verify record (among other things).  New functionality recently added to myE-Verify includes:

  • Spanish language – a new Spanish language myE-Verify provides a Spanish version of the previously available English version
  • Case history – reports can be generated allowing users to see when their data was used in E-Verify
  • Case tracker – allows users to track the status of their E-Verify case using the case verification number
