OREANDA-NEWS. Hitachi, Ltd. and Hitachi Infrastructure Systems (Asia) Pte. Ltd. announced that Hitachi Infrastructure Systems (Asia) has received an order worth approximately 7 billion JPY, to provide security and building facilities systems for Singapore's Northpoint City.

Located in the heart of Yishun and managed by Frasers Centrepoint Limited, one of Singapore's largest listed property companies, Northpoint City is the latest addition to the increasing integrated developments in Singapore's suburbs - under a programme to rejuvenate housing estates and inject vibrancy into community living through the integration of commercial and residential buildings. Slated for completion in 2018, Northpoint City will house a 920-unit condominium, a large shopping mall in the north of Singapore, and a transport hub among others to create seamless connectivity and greater accessibility for residents.

Under the contract, Hitachi Infrastructure Systems (Asia) will provide a comprehensive range of products and services to Northpoint City fundamental to creating a safe and comfortable heartland for Yishun residents. Hitachi Infrastructure Systems (Asia) will be in charge of design, fabrication and delivery of physical security system, such as Hitachi's monitoring camera system and storage system for recorded camera images. Hitachi will also provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for air-conditioning ventilation, electricity, fireproof and power transformation equipment for all facilities under Northpoint City.

As the regional headquarters for Hitachi's infrastructure systems business in Southeast Asia (SEA), Hitachi Infrastructure Systems (Asia) offers a total solution package as well as over 40 years of proven track record in providing building facilities systems in Singapore and this region. These provided great confidence to Lum Chang Building Contractors Pte Ltd., the main contractor of this project, to award the project to Hitachi Infrastructure Systems (Asia).

Hitachi Infrastructure Systems (Asia) aims to expand its business in security systems such as monitoring camera and entrance/exit management systems in addition to building facilities systems. This project for Northpoint City marks a major step forward in bringing Hitachi's internationally acclaimed security systems to the SEA market. Hitachi will contribute to urban development projects in Singapore and SEA countries by providing total solutions utilizing information and communications technology (ICT).
