OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2015. India and Bangladesh have held bilateral talks for cooperation in fields of Science, Technology, Oceanography, Earth Sciences and Atomic Energy among others.  Detailed discussions were held when the visiting Bangladesh delegation led by its Minister for Science & Technology Shri Yeafesh Osman met the Indian side led by the Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Dr Harsh Vardhan in New Delhi today. 
India assured Bangladesh that it would get all the help in various sectors of Science & Technology including in the field of Atomic Energy.  It was conveyed that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had given instructions to extend every kind of help as asked by the Bangladesh. 

Earlier, Dr. Harsh Vardhan has said that India and Bangladesh share a common cultural heritage and a special relation.  He said that both the countries should identify various areas for cooperation in the field of Oceanography, Earth Sciences, in the field of Water treatment for Arsenic or in any other field for the benefit of people of that country.  The Minister recalled his meetings with various leaders of Bangladesh including the Prime Minister of the Country Ms. Sheikh Hasina when he had visited that country earlier. 

The Bangladesh Minister Shri Yeafesh Osman has said that his country is grateful to India for its support during its freedom struggle.  He said that the recent resolution of boundary issue between the two countries shows the kind of extra ordinary friendly relations between the two countries, its leaders and its people.  Shri Osman said that Prime Ministers of both the countries are very keen for putting the Science and Technology to use for the benefit of the people and the cooperation in this field should further strengthen the bilateral bonds.
