KIA has become a leader among foreign cars in Russia
Traditional bestseller of brand - KIA Rio - showed sales growth of 70% in September – there were sold 10,822 sedans and hatchbacks of the model. From the beginning of the year, 71,650 KIA Rio found their customers that is more by 8% than the last year, informed the press service of KIA Motors Rus.
The second position in terms of sales in September was occupied by the crossover KIA Sportage, which sold 1782 vehicles (-13%). For the first nine months of 2015 the demand for KIA Sportage was 14443 KIA Sportage cars (-30%) - this is the third result among the best-selling cars of brand for the first three quarters of 2015.
The third place by the popularity at the end of September – is occupied by family of compact models KIA cee'd: 1520 sold cars (-45%). From the beginning of the year, this line of models attracted 14788 buyers (31%) that provided cee'd with the second place in the ranking of sales among KIA models for 9 months.
Also the top-five of the most popular models included crossover KIA Soul car with 471 cars (4264 units YTD) and KIA Cerato sedan, with sales of 407 units in September (3816 units since the beginning of the year). Demand for KIA Sorento Prime, which has become the new flagship of the brand of crossover line, is ahead significantly the initial expectations. Since the start of sales on July 1st until the end of September in Russia it was sold 538 Sorento Prime cars.
It is also worth noting the September surge in demand for business sedan Optima. Last month it was sold 322 cars of this model, which is 2.2 times more than in August of 2015 and more by 31% than in September of the last year.
