Carmaker Hyundai before the end of 2016 plans to invest about $ 100 million in the modernizing of the plant "Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus" in St. Petersburg, said the director of public relations of the enterprise, Victor Vasiliev. "Modernization involves the expansion of stamping shop, warehouse. There is a great completion", - he said. According to Mr. Vasilyev, the company began to invest in this project since mid-2015. Upgrading is performed to prepare the launch of new models of the plant, in particular the new generation of Hyundai Solaris and crossover Hyundai Creta, wrote the agency "Finmarket".
Mr.Vasilyev said that the design capacity of the plant at the same time will remain the same (200 thousand cars per year). According to him, the launch of production of new Creta is planned for autumn of 2016, a new generation of Solaris – for the fourth quarter of 2016. Hyundai plant started the operation in September of 2010; it produces the models Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio.
