OREANDA-NEWS. GM-AvtoVAZ carried out a full transition to the production of cars Chevrolet Niva 1.7 with emissions standard Euro-5. Works on the calibration of the engine under the new emission standard are held by Bosch - a developer and supplier of the controller for Chevrolet Niva. Experience of Bosch engineers and GM-AvtoVAZ allowed the carrying out of the calibration of the engine under higher rates of toxicity without reducing the dispersal of-power characteristics of the engine, noted the press-service of joint venture.

With the transition of Chevrolet Niva to Euro 5 the engineers, in particular, managed to reduce fuel consumption (2-4% depending on the operating mode) and to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. In addition, by optimizing the work of the throttle (electronic pedal instead of the cable drive) it was reduced significantly the pulsation of transmission.

For the first nine months of 2015 GM-AVTOVAZ’s conveyor produced 26,190 vehicles - less by 22.6% than the year before (33830 units). According to the press-service of the joint venture, in the reporting period, GM-AvtoVAZ sold for Russian dealers 24,550 Chevrolet Niva cars (-25,7%). Currently, the price of Chevrolet Niva is from 539 000 to 641 thousand rubles, depending on the configuration.
