OREANDA-NEWS. Charlotte Douglas International Airport's passenger numbers rose 1 percent to 30,140,846 travelers flying through CLT January - August 2015 compared to the same time period in 2014.

Operations remained steady with a 0.1 percent increase, overseeing 364,562 landings and departures January - August 2015.

Cargo activity also remained stable dipping slightly by only 0.3 percent to 88,732 tons of cargo transported through CLT during the first eight months of this year.

International passenger traffic, however, dipped to 2,127,068 fliers (January - August 2015) due to the previously announced realignment of international routes by American Airlines.

In August, two of CLT's airlines introduced new service for passengers. Southwest Airlines kicked off nonstop service to Dallas-Love Field on August 9, and American Airlines added nonstop service to Burlington, Vermont on August 18.
