OREANDA-NEWS. JSC "Grindeks" announces it has received a certificate approving the adequacy of its Energy management to the requirements of LVS EN ISO 50001:2012 standard.

To obtain the LVS EN ISO 50001:2012 certification "Grindeks" determinedly developed its previous Energy management system, improving energy accounting, increasing energy efficiency and reducing costs of energy resources per one unit of production, thereby company's environmental impact has also been reduced.

The aim of the new Energy management system is to provide company's operations in accordance with the legislative requirements and to constantly reduce the environmental impact of manufacturing, products and services. Improvements implemented together with the certificate's obtainment will allow the company to plan more efficient energy procurements, increase energy efficiency, as well as reduce energy expenses.

The Chairman of the Board of JSC "Grindeks" Juris Bundulis: "A lot of work has been done to implement the new Energy management standard in the company - several training sessions for company's managers and specialists were organised and even energy consumption habits among employees were studied. Improvements were implemented in already existing Quality and environmental management, occupational health and safety systems. The new Energy management system will allow us not only to save financial resources but it will also help to determine ways of further improvements in the energy management."

The certification was performed by an internationally accredited organization "Bureau Veritas Latvia".
