Commonwealth management and several employees were honored at a ceremony in East Lansing. The facility also earned the opportunity to select a local nonprofit organization to receive a \\$1,000 grant from the company.

“Giving back is a key component of what it means to function as a highly ethical and sustainable company,” said David Mengebier, chief compliance officer for CMS Energy and its primary business, Consumers Energy.

About 60 employees work at the Commonwealth Commerce Center, which houses the company’s Information Technology department.

In addition to Commonwealth, CMS Energy honored Consumers Energy’s One Energy Plaza corporate headquarters as a finalist. Consumers Energy’s facility at Bellevue won the grand prize, and eight individual employees also were recognized.

“We’re proud to recognize these employees who work each day to help us promote a strong culture of ethics and compliance,” Mengebier said.
