Freight One boosts ore volumes
OREANDA-NEWS. In January-September 2015, Joint Stock Company Freight One (Freight One) carried more than 28.6 mln tons of ore, up 15% YoY. The goods turnover in the specified segment grew 50%, reaching 37.6 bln tkm. Freight One's share in the total ore traffic on the Russian Railways network increased from 23% to 26.5%.
The positive dynamics was backed by the efficient performance of the Company's specialists in terms of service contracts with key customers, namely OJSC Novolipetsk Steel, JSC Severstal, and UC Rusal, including prompt rolling stock delivery to metal manufacturers, 24-hour railcar tracking support, building effective logistics, and traffic routing efforts.
Over the reporting period, ore transportation in Freight One's railcars inside Russia grew 9.5%, reaching 23.4 mln tons, export traffic increased by 32% to 4.2 mln tons, while import traffic grew more than 2.8 times to 1.2 mln tons.
The ore was transported by the Russian Railways network to consignees in Russia, the CIS countries, and China.
