OREANDA-NEWS. UTair Aviation has transported participants of the regional science and education seminar for hematologists-oncologists, pediatricians and surgeons of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts.

The seminar, organized by the National Society of Pediatric Hematologists and Oncologists (NSPHO), took place on October 21 and 22 in Krasnodar as a part of the Distant Regions program. Lecturers and consultants, including leading experts from the Dmitry Rogachev Federal Center of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology, gave talks to regional health professionals on the latest developments in providing specialized medical care to children with hematological and oncologic diseases.

“This year UTair Aviation has continued its cooperation with the National Society of Pediatric Hematologists and Oncologists, helping transport participants of its educational programs,” said UTair – Passenger Airlines President Alexey Budnik. “We hope that projects like this will support the spread of innovative healthcare solution, which in turn will allow to improve the quality of healthcare available to residents in the Russian regions.” He added that in 2014 UTair provided flight support for an analogous science and education seminar in Syktyvkar.

The National Society of Pediatric Hematologists and Oncologists (NSPHO) is a professional medical community uniting more than 715 health professionals from 73 Russian regions. The Society focuses on introducing innovative technologies for better medical treatment and creating conditions for equal availability of effective healthcare in every region.

The Distant Regions Program was established by theNational Society of Pediatric Hematologists and Oncologists in 2008. Since the start of the program the Society has held more than 64 seminar sessions across the country. In 2012 the program was recognized with the IN VITA VERITAS oncology award for the Best Science and Education Project and in 2015 the National Society of Pediatric Hematologists and Oncologists was awarded with the Our Lighthouse award from the National Medical House for its work in implementation of education programs.
