OREANDA-NEWS. The government will analyse the situation of the residents through the light of the economic factor. This is an instrument tested globally, aimed at improving researches and implementing the latter in practice into economic processes on development for the population's well-being. This was the focus of a today meeting of the National Commission for Population and Development (CNPD), chaired by Prime Minister Gheorghe Brega.

The government will assess the dynamic of the population in 2015-2017 and will implement complex strategies of development in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). 

According to a UNFPA representative, Ian McFarlane, this process will include an analysis of the population's dynamic, proceeding from the economic and social realities from Moldova. These researches will result in developing a string of recommendations that will help improve state policies and national plans. 

The participants in the meeting also discussed subjects in carrying out a programme on providing social assistance, validation of methodologies on integration of ageing in sectoral policies, an initiative to introduce the medical certificate ascertaining the birth, as well as youth policies. 

The acting prime minister stressed the importance to continue processes of developing and enforcing social policies in Moldova. Gheorghe Brega asked the competent institutions to ensure the timely fulfillment of the legal provisions on social assistance and promotion of strategies in the sector.

The National Commission for Population and Development was set up under the Moldovan government in 2007, as an inter-institutional body of analysis, synthesis and coordination of sectoral policies with impact on the population.
