OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2015. Doosan Corporation, in partnership with Serveone, announced that it has signed a 40 billion won contract to deliver fuel cells to the 5-megawatt “Western Incheon Fuel Cell Phase 2” project owned by Korea Western Power (KOWPO).

Under the contract, Doosan Corporation will manufacture and supply the core fuel cell components while Serveone will be in charge of the installation and construction of the fuel cell systems. Doosan Corporation also expects to sign a long-term service agreement (LTSA) to provide maintenance and repair services for fuel cells.

When the construction is completed in April 2016, the fuel cell generating system is to supply 37,000 megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity annually while simultaneously providing heat to more than 3,000 households in Cheongna District in western Incheon.

“Since the launch of the fuel cell business last year, we have focused on catering to customer needs in the provision of the core fuel cell components and long-term services. As a result, we have successfully supplied fuel cells to Korea’s major electric power companies, including Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), Korea South-East Power Co. (KOSEP) and Korea Western Power Co.,” said a Doosan Corporation official. “We will continue our efforts in reducing costs by continuously making R&D investments, and actively engaging in business activities as we strive to become a global fuel cell maker.”
