US NGL production rose in third quarter: EIA

OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2015. US NGL production from gas processing rose by 60,000 b/d between the second and third quarter of 2015 to 3.33mn b/d, according to the Energy Information Administration's latest Short Term Energy Outlook.

While record high propane inventories, ongoing ethane rejection, and lower liquids prices spurred some market participants to anticipate a gradual decline in NGL production, the EIA revised its fourth quarter NGL production estimate higher Tuesday.

The agency is estimating fourth quarter NGL production at 3.42mn b/d, up from last month's forecast of 3.39mn b/d. However, EIA scaled back production estimates for the following year, pegging 2016 production at 3.56mn b/d, down from an earlier estimate of 3.61mn b/d.
