OREANDA-NEWS. According to the agency “Auto-Dealer-SPb”, for 10 months of 2015 in St. Petersburg car manufacturers Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and GM produced 251,300 passenger cars, which is less by 16% than the last year. In October, for the first half year the production of cars increased at the end of one month. Last time the growth of manufacture of cars in St. Petersburg for one month was recorded in the last April.

"On the one hand, the growth was achieved due to the low base of the last October, when three of the four weeks the plant GM had rest. But now the American enterprise does not work, so the result of October can be considered as successful for urban automobile industry”, - said the general director of “Auto-Dealer-SPb", Michail Chaplygin. – “Despite the fact that the plant Toyota was stopped for two weeks in November, for the year in St. Petersburg it will be produced more than 300 thousand cars. Thus, the decline in production could be as high as 15%.

Recall that at the end of October, Nissan announced the termination of production of model Teana at its St. Petersburg plant and the simultaneous start of the production of the crossover Qashqai.

Share of St. Petersburg automobile industry in relation to the total volume of production of cars in Russia for 10 months was 22.8%.
